| do what you do |

There’s something undeniably moving about seeing people engage in things they really love doing. When someone is in the zone, swallowed up by the emotion of things, it can give chills. When you’re the person that is involved, there’s no better feeling than knowing your dedication to one thing can bring inspiration and joy to others. It goes without saying, that one of the biggest aphrodisiacs is PaSsIoN! People are drawn to the focus and energy that are exuded when the performance is on!

I LOVE to watch passion in action. It shouldn’t be a surprise that some of my favorite television shows include things where people get to put passion on display…

Glee

Glee

Glee: This is such an awesome show. If you haven’t checked it out yet, give it a chance. I love the passion that these students “perform” with. I know that it’s not a show about reality, but it presents the idea of a group of people getting together to do the thing that they love: sing! Not only do they sing, but they bring the house down. This show is so full of random awkwardness and triumph, that it has instantaneously given me something to look forward to on tv every week (in addition to how I met your mother). This show throws me back to my early days in the performance choir in elementary/jr. high. Those were some of the best times in my life! There is something so life giving about seeing people pursue that which is most important to them.

Quest Crew

America’s Best Dance Crew (Quest Crew)

ABDC: America’s Best Dance Crew. What can I say? Dance is one of the hottest forms of expression out there, and it has hit its stride on television as of late. There are great dance shows poppin’ up all over the place. My favorite of these shows is ABDC. Every week, America is treated to some of the best dancing brought by some ridiculously awesome crews. Some of the stuff that these people think up is just bonkers. I’m often left with my mouth hanging open, wondering how the heck they pulled that move off. I also love the dynamic of team excellence. The people that comprise these groups, are friends and colleagues. They are able to share each other’s passion and ignite the flames that burn brightly in the group. One word: AMAZING!

Top Chef

Top Chef

Top Chef: This is one of the most amazing and captivating shows on television right now. I love the creativity that the chefs on this show bring every week. I would probably crap my pants if I was told that I had to make a delicious, restaurant quality meal in just 30 minutes. I don’t know how these people deal with the pressure, but the ideas that a lot of these people come up with are simply amazing. I would have to say the best part about this show is listening to the different chefs explain their dishes, the rationale that goes into picking what they make, why they make it, and hearing their understanding for blending different styles and tastes together.

.

Project Runway

Project Runway

Project Runway: The same thing that the chefs do on top chef is what the contestants on Project Runway do with clothing. There is always a great display of creativity on this show. Seeing the designers work with a bevy of different fabrics and really being able to follow the production of clothing, from conception to runway, is amazing. They also have smaller quick challenges, followed by elaborate ones. I’m  thinking they should combine the two (project runway and top chef), people would be able to eat well and be custom fitted at the same time. These tasks are meant to stretch some of the country’s finest design minds to the next level. Project Runway is never, ever the one to disappoint.

.

I LOVE music and poetry. I enjoy writing a great deal, but it’s something that I also use to vent all of the ideas running around in my head sometime. Poetry is just something that I kinda fell into during the 5th grade. I have not been able to go without it since then. I really enjoy piecing a poem together, crafting it interestingly and performing the final results. It’s an amazing feeling (to be performing/reading your poetry) in front of others. I really enjoy sharing the gift that I have.

If you’re reading, interact with me! What are your passions?! What things help you get through life with a smile on your face? What are you really good at? Are there any instances on t.v. that bring lots more people together? What brings smiles to your face? Share your loves!
